English Negatives: 1) The jump from a moving car is incredibly badly filmed. 2) I was annoyed by the gradual reconciliation of relationships in the family, real life just doesn’t work that way. Positives: 1) Zooey Deschanel. 2) Not that I spent the whole time laughing, but I had quite a few opportunities to do so. 3) The funeral. I saw two films with this theme in two days and both of them turned out great. 4) Overall impression. I found this to be an extremely feel-good film. ()

English A dime-a-dozen American sitcom about a dysfunctional family conceived as a feature-length film. Half of the jokes aren’t funny and the rest are just okay. Before the film is over, you’ll get to know the characters and get at least some of the humor, but most of the time you just won’t understand where the joke is. Frank Oz’s comedy Death at a Funeral uses the same premise, but in a much more imaginative way. ()
