In the wrong place at the wrong time, Frank Johnson (Ross Elliott) falls witness to a mob murder and consequently goes into hiding. His wife Eleanor (Ann Sheridan) is approached by the police for help in finding Frank, but she's not so sure that it's the gangsters he's running from, but rather, their crumbling marriage. After learning that Frank has a deadly heart problem, Eleanor begins a desperate search for her missing husband, taking tenacious reporter, Danny Leggett (Dennis O'Keefe) along for the ride. But as she gets closer to finding her husband, Eleanor starts to realize that the killers are out there - and they may be closer than she thinks… (Echo Bridge Entertainment)

English Enormously attractive, fully-fledged action (we are constantly moving forward, there are no superfluous scenes that break narrative coherence) that strikingly evokes curiosity and suspense by making the viewer the only fully-informed player throughout, while the characters approach the target, the escaped Frank, first in parallel, then converging impressively to a final point of revelation and explanation. All this is interspersed with humour (great dialogue shoot-outs) and extremely clever direction, which, in the "Hitchcock" way, doesn't let us peek under the hood (the final duel of who's who), but makes our imagination work and take the tension to much higher spheres... 85% ()
