English Field of Dreams is beautifully filmed, but it’s too much of an overly sweet fairy tale. I like poetic films, but if it weren’t for James Horner’s magical soundtrack, which I already knew very well, I would have been rather bored by this. ()

English I actually had to adjust the mode pretty quickly when I realized that Field of Dreams is really poetic. I originally imagined anything but that. At that point I began to dive into the ideas that this story has, which are essentially really nice. It’s just a shame that I started getting there only towards the ending. And the American farming life, Iowa, cornfields and baseball are not my cup of tea either, so that’s another reason for three stars. Baseball actually doesn’t need to be related to the premise at all and you still won’t get rid of it. ()
