English A charming and touching story with incredible performances even in the smallest roles and images that, despite their mere few seconds, capture the heart even after numerous viewings. The light in the eyes of the main dreamer, the beautiful Kate Winslet, and Dustin Hoffman's kindness took me to Neverland. And I will return there whenever I want. My long-time treasure for melancholic evenings. ()

English After a long time, my rating differs from the vast majority. Unfortunately, I have to say in case of this film. The character portrayed by Johnny Depp is one big child who has an imagination so thick that you could cut it with a knife, and he could give a piece of it to every child in the world who is lacking in this respect, which is nice. But I wish it were told a little differently than in such a boring way. When the great Johnny was not in his imagination with “his” children, I was very bored and I couldn’t wait for the movie to end. It’s all the more pity because I really liked the character of James Barrie. After all, imagination is the most amazing thing our mind has, not only in our childhood but also in adulthood. We just have to let it run free, as James Barrie managed to do. ()

English A frontal attack on the emotions through the considerably idealized life story of James Barrie? Unarguably. Having said that, I must add that it is a sensitively filmed and perfectly acted attack on the emotions. Let alone the music. Yes, I admit that at the end I was on the brink of tears, which happens to me only once in a blue moon. Forster again confirmed to me that his talent touches the stars. Even so, I don’t know I’ll watch it again. After all, I found the “lemonadieness" rather irritating. But only once the movie ended. While I was watching it, I must admit that I was entranced by its charm. However “cheap" it might be. ()

English Even if you only watch the movie because of the beautiful theatrical performance at the end, it will be worth it. It beautifully portrays what some people simply do not want to admit. The world of children and the world of adults are not different, it's just very difficult to transition between them. When someone has that gift, it's beautiful. Yes, the story is touching, but the moment when three children floated out of their beds moved me even more. The story of Peter Pan is beautiful, you just need to open up to it. Johnny Depp is once again enchanting and doesn't even have to try too hard. ()

English To put it simply, the protagonist of the film, writer James Matthew Barry, was of the same sexual orientation as the famous Danish fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen, and to make a down-to-earth realistic biographical film would mean not avoiding some of the darker aspects of his life and the lives of those close to him. His friendship with a family of five little boys was naturally motivated not only by a desire to help people in need, and ultimately, the hero of his most successful play and the prototype of Peter Pan later committed suicide. The film script is loosely inspired by the real-life fate of the famous writer and is written in the spirit of his famous fairy tale. It is similarly moving, romantic, and innocent like a child. Additionally, it is excellently cast, and Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet deliver their typical high-standard performances. It is a poetic, playful film. Overall impression: 85%. ()
