Above the World

The story of a boy who escapes from humanity and the system into the mountains proves to be a very interesting subject. The treatment and narration of events are in the form of calm drama, but the actions of these characters from the Austrian countryside have bitter consequences. The portrayal of Elias is superb, compelling you to live through all the hardships he has to endure. The mountains represent liberation. The set design is minimalist, but it suits the movie perfectly, while the plot flows like a mountain stream, in some places trickling along peacefully and in others, it escalates and roars. The sounds of nature, animals, and even the silence of the mountains complement the entire film very well. (10/22/2022)
