A former female SS Officer at Auschwitz meets one of her women prisoners aboard a liner some 15 years later and they reminisce with bitterness about that time - even though back then the guard was sympathetic enough to let the prisoner sneak away to see her lover in another barracks. Yes, it is difficult to evaluate only a part of the film that will forever remain unfinished, but still, it is very clear here how much potential it had and what a powerful work could have been created. Even just what was filmed and preserved is extremely powerful, and in few films will you find such strong scenes from a concentration camp without actually seeing what was happening. Less is more, it works perfectly here.
