Dolly, daughter of bank governor Hámor, is engaged to Bardó Gábor. Problems start creeping into their relationship when it is discovered that the girl's portrait ornaments a newly issued bank note. Both Dolly's life and her conduct undergo a substantial change. Gábor, therefore, decides to withdraw to their country estate. Thanks to a radio broadcast organising a competition, a pretty widow, who is also a landowner living in the neigh-bourhood, picks him as the "perfect man". Bardó, however, is still in love with Dolly, trying to contact the girl through Leonidas, a bank secretary. Leonidas makes Dolly realise suddenly that her "perfect man" can be no one else but Gábor. In search of her fiancé's embrace, the girl is hurriedly off to the country. (official distributor synopsis)
