People associate the chupacabra with a bloodthirsty, hairless monster, while the makers of Chupa have turned this mythical creature into a winged stuffed animal with a penchant for music boxes. I didn't expect much from the film, and I didn't get much. Chupa isn't fantastical enough, or action-packed enough, or adventurous enough, or funny enough. The premise – a bland one (rescuing a (mythical) creature from the clutches of dishonest people) – wasn't downright bad, but the resulting film is universally bland. Even the promising local colour did not anything. Better two stars! ()
