English I found The Ghoul to be average for its time. It is currently a horror film that just can't work anymore. Not only because it doesn't contain horror scenes, but also because it is very shallow and doesn't surprise the viewer with anything. The story even seems drawn out. But given the context of the time, I still find the film relatively passable. ()
