In the Olden Tymes, Count Regula is drawn and quartered for killing twelve virgins in his dungeon torture chamber. The West German movie The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism is an example of how the movie's makers wanted to break out of making movies based on Karl May's books and produce works based on other classics. However, how they failed. The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism is a movie that does not work. It is supposed to be a horror movie. However, it is not really for horror fans. It is supposed to be a movie for everyone. However, it does not seem to be for anyone in particular, and there is plenty that most people would not like about it. It is not too surprising that Harald Reinl did not make more movies like this.
