Plots(1)

Max (Sigourney Weaver) and Page (Jennifer Love Hewitt) are a brilliant mother/daughter con team who have their grift down to a fine science. Max targets wealthy, willing men who fall prey to her beauty and charm, and marries them. The equally gorgeous Page then seduces them. Max "catches" her wayward husbands in the act. Then it's off to palimony city - with the hapless men losing much more than their shirts - and on to the next mark, with Max and Page posing in a variety of deceptive guises to keep one (or two ) steps ahead of the law. English An above average comedy that reliably entertains me. The central pair of calculating bitches are great, and Gene Hackman is flawless as well, enjoying his role and chortling, chortling, chortling. ()

English Heartbreakers is a very funny comedy that was accompanied by a lot of confusion during the pre-production stage. I would have been quite happy to see the originally intended Cher and Jennifer Aniston or Anjelica Huston in action, but if I had to choose between Cameron Diaz or Alicia Silverstone, then I am very grateful for the glamorous Jennifer Love Hewitt. I didn't really come to like her until her series Ghost Whisperer, but then I watched it mainly for her sympathetic performance. Along with growing out of her teen roles, she became a really interesting actress and Heartbreakers became an evergreen of TV reruns. There have been some questions about Heartbreakers being a remake of another show, but those are just online opinions. In fact, Heartbreakers was actually the basis for the 2005 Indian remake Beware.
