Iron Reign (2024)

English Initially, I didn't think I would be able to get past the multitude of illogicalities that filled the series like a slice of Swiss cheese. Yet, as the story unfolded, I found myself surprisingly engrossed. I must confess that my twisted self appreciated the scenes of explicit violence. I could've done without the violent scenes involving women, which, honestly, repel me (the scenes, not the women). Nonetheless, it all felt strangely real, and I'm eagerly awaiting the continuation. / Lesson learned: With great deals come great problems. ()

The Law of the Port (2024) (E01)

English The opening episode started off great, but then the plot took a bit of a dip, becoming mundane. However, the definitive solution to the issue of pirates was a real treat for me. / Lesson learned: Stealing is never the way to go, and trying to rob seasoned criminals is a particularly stupid thing to do. ()

Long Live the King (2024) (E02)

English Even after the second episode, I couldn't find a compelling reason to bump up my rating and add that fourth star. The plot wasn't bad, but it also didn't quite hit the mark for me. For all its potential, the show feels a bit lacking in excitement, leaving me with a rather subdued impression overall. I might have enjoyed it more if the creators had focused on Joaquin's rise instead. ()

Throne of Blood (2024) (E03)

English What a mess. What started as a solid four-star episode took a nosedive into what I'd generously give two stars. Things went off the rails with the task force. It felt like the creators lost their way entirely, and the screenwriter must have been on something questionable to justify this misstep. To top it all off, the final scene didn't help it much either. / Lesson learned: Distrust can lead to some serious health problems. ()

Double or Nothing (2024) (E04)

English I'm finally ready to add that fourth star. The plot really started to grab my attention, despite the oddity of private detectives dodging bullets like they're in a superhero movie. What really got under my skin though, was the complete silence about all those dead policemen from the previous episode. It's like they vanished into thin air, as if nobody wanted to spoil the neat statistics. The raw, almost final scene didn't sit well with me either. / Lesson learned: When something looks like a rat, moves like a rat, and acts like a rat, it's probably a rat. ()

An Eye for an Eye, a Tooth for a Tooth (2024) (E05)

English Another decent episode. Unlike the previous one, this time the brutality didn't disgust me as much (well, until the final bit), the flashbacks to the eighties were just as entertaining as before, and the present-day storyline thankfully didn't lag behind. So, it's four stars from me again. / Lesson learned: There are some professions that cannot be done without sharp objects. ()

A Bad Omen (2024) (E06)

English There was a bit too much voodoo for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but it felt like the creators spent so much time on magic that none was left for the main storyline. I see it as a filler episode, which is a shame because the two previous ones left a much stronger impression. / Lesson learned: Working for organized crime really ramps up a person's stress levels. ()

Crossroads (2024) (E07)

English In this episode, voodoo took a backseat to the main plot's story development. Admittedly, there wasn't a ton of progress at the junkyard, but it still held my interest more than the previous episode. The scenes of brutal physical violence were almost painfully believable. / Lesson learned: When a bride is set on having her wedding night, nothing should stand in her way. ()

A Matter of Blood (2024) (E08)

English The season was left so open-ended that a giant container ship could sail through without even a scratch on the paint. Despite that, it was another great episode. Sure, nothing was resolved, but it happened in a particularly interesting way (although in many respects quite predictably)./ Lesson learned: Funerals in Spain are carried out in a notably different way.
