Set in present day Mumbai the story follows the life of a serial killer Ramanna who is inspired by an infamous serial killer from the 1960s, Raman Raghav. His strange obsession with Raghavan, a young cop keeps growing as he closely follows him without his knowledge and often creates situations where both of them come face to face. The Indians show that when they want to, they can produce quite a gritty thriller, with a truly excellent antagonist, mainly because he's just a human being. There are scenes here that are bloody but portrayed without blood, yet with exactly the terrifying effect they're meant to have. Even the musical numbers don't bother me, as they are mostly sung in the background rather than directly by the characters.
