Margaret Sullavan and James Stewart really click here, and so the film's finale can truly tug at the heartstrings of some viewers. I wouldn't say it's a great romantic drama, but it's good. It's not unnecessarily lightened to be too naive, but it's also not unnecessarily emotional to make you feel like the film is trying to manipulate you. All in all, quite harmonious.
