Their relationship intensifies when Wilson refuses to open a letter Liza left behind for fear it will shatter his ideal of the perfect life they shared. English Philip Seymour Hoffman’s acting spectacle overshadows the fact that the script could have been a tiny bit better. The ending in particular didn’t make me very happy. However, petrol sniffing and boat competitions placed Philip’s performance in the spotlight. It really seemed as if he was totally out of it. I felt the pain of his life in my very bones. ()
