English The originals are usually better than the remakes, and this is doubly true with this Amenábar film. At first glance, the two versions are basically identical, but this one is better acted, with better music, more drive, and not to mention a more impressive atmosphere. "Abre los ojos, viewer..." ()

English The original and formally less attractive version of Vanilla Sky, which,, though less mainstream and appealing at first, is very suggestive and original – proof that Spanish cinema has nothing to be ashasmed of. Compared to the American remake, the budget here is much smaller, the main male star is absent, and yet it's a well-crafted film full of distinctive moments and mindfuck scenes. If it was darker, psychologically stronger and with a bigger pull, I would rate it as positively as Vanilla Sky, where I was carried away by the New York set design rather than the originality of the story. English At the moment I saw the original version, I don't even feel like watching "Vanilla Sky," which is a remake of this Amenábar's film. It's interesting, mainly in the sense of how it plays with your mind. Everything can be a dream, everything can be reality, and nothing has to be connected. However, understanding comes in the end, and it is definitely not bad. ()
