Even though it appears to be a classic family movie at first glance, about a young boy and his animal companion, in this case a beautiful black stallion as the title suggests, you will actually find scenes here that are interesting and not so mainstream. This is particularly evident in the island sequence where there is essentially no dialogue. It's still a slightly different experience.
