The third sequel to the film "Jaws," begins with the recently widowed Ellen Brody still living in the resort town of Amity. When she learns that one of her sons (who had replaced his father as the town's sheriff) has also been attacked and killed by a great white shark, she decides to travel to the Bamahas where her other son, Michael, works as a marine biologist, she fears that the shark wants revenge for what her husband did to it in the first two films, and wants Michael to quit his job and stay away from the water before its too late. Her worst fears are confirmed when, three days later, guess who comes to the shore. (official distributor synopsis)

English Michael Caine didn’t deserve a role like this. Yet his presence is so impressive that it compels me to give the film one star. The rest is crap. ()

English It's fascinating how the level of each episode drops quite evenly. I have the first one as 100%, the second at around 65, the third at 30, and the fourth is somewhere between 2.5 and 5. And that's really just for Michael Caine, performing perhaps the greatest miss by an acting legend in history. The avenging shark is, for a change, the highlight of the thematic craze of the 1980s. ()
