Missed chance for an impressive romance. Gere has charisma and Winona has beautiful doe eyes, but neither is enough here. Illogically acting characters fatally lack depth and any doubts. After all, they both could have so many questions and problems that it is literally disgraceful how their entire shared time slips away. Moreover, the screenwriter chose the ending that does not fit with the previous development and thereby definitively buried the film.
