On 26th of August 1939 the Ocania1 steamboat leaves the New York harbour with the ex-spy Maria Holm on board. Now she is the owner of a dressmaker's showroom, but for just one last time is taking important documents to Europe for the sake of peace. Gloria, a woman of Hungarian origins, is on her way home and meets Uncle János, with whom she travelled between decks when coming to the New World. He dies in her cabin and she adopts his grandson. In the meantime spies and anti-spies are fighting on the ship. On 1st of September news of the war reaches the ship, which soon arrives at a French port. Vincent Gordon helps Maria keep the documents and they stay together as a love couple. (official distributor synopsis)
