English Vive la Commune? It is no coincidence, of course, that in the Soviet Union in the late 1920s, the revolutionary course of the short-lived Paris Commune caught on as a film subject. Regarding this connection, there is no need to look for hidden elements, metaphors, parallels, mirroring, etc. Everything is crystal clear. That's most likely why I prefer Alexandrov and Eisenstein’s Old and New and Dovzhenko’s Earth. ()
