Costume Ball

Széky, the painter, is vehemently courting Erzsébet, the wife of professor Agáth, who firmly refuses him. One night, when the professor is away, he breaks into the Agáth villa, besieging Erzsébet. Upon his return, the husband catches sight of the painter stalking away and gets suspicious. He plans to reveal the adultery in the evening of the costume ball and he goes ahead to set afloat the rumour that his wife will stay at home. The painter, dressed in Apache clothes, runs to meet Mrs. Agáth, but the woman, preparing for the ball, shoots at the masked intruder. The professor happily embraces his innocently suspected wife.
