A continuing zenith in the genre of risqué teenage comedies, where at heart it's really just about one simple thing, in this case presented with such a sense of humor that you can't even be mad at those guys. In other words: I saw it for the first time when I was fifteen, and I was really jealous of them. ()
Second sequels are not always successful, and American Pie 2 definitely wasn’t. It was basically just about the old gang getting together a year after graduation to party at an awesome bash. Once again, it’s a concert of Jim and his dad, along with Stifler and his insults. Lines like "Suck my pole," "Santa's porn," or "Fake dicks for everyone" are unforgettable, as is the scene with the glue, which can happen to anyone. The mythology of the film is developed more deeply; some relationships form, while others end. The film serves as a preview of what’s yet to come, but it doesn’t lack its charm, which is also found in the amazing soundtrack that is simply perfectly chosen. Everything is directed at the youth, at the party, and at the wildness, but in such a way that even I, who doesn't party, am not put off by it. ()
A slew of awkward and brilliant scenes. Overall, almost the same as the first part, i.e., a solid easygoing comedy for teenagers that doesn’t pretend to be anything else. ()
