English An average comedy that you can really watch, quite entertaining and fun. Not a particularly original idea, but nicely handled. A bit similar to Mama's Boy with Jon Heder, but more derivative. ()

English Susan Sarandon appeared to us in Karlovy Vary, and in the same week, I saw the movie "Mr. Woodcock" for the first time. It's a story about a boy who had a really tough physical education teacher in elementary school. When this boy grew up and returned to the town where he grew up as a writing star, he found out that the same gym teacher whom everyone hated was dating his mom. Two rivals, who traditionally hate each other, confront each other so that in the end, they can "mature" and realize that they are actually not so bad. The plot is incredibly straightforward and simple, and it only lifts a few things - the performances, where Billy Bob Thornton and Seann William Scott deliver their typical performances that are not offensive, although Scott's character gradually becomes so annoying that you don't even want to root for him. The gym teacher, on the other hand, is an example that even if a person is really quite despicable, they can make friends and be respected by people. I would like to see how such a person would become the teacher of the year in America, especially considering that nowadays, children file lawsuits even for worse offenses against their persons. The film can boast only a few lines, the episodic characters present here have absolutely no significance for the plot, and so the whole comedy flounders in the fact that it is simply not funny enough or clever enough. It is definitely not a film that a person would want to go to the cinema for and feel that they could not have spent their money better.
