English I acknowledge that the core premise and the atmosphere can’t be judged other than positively, but what else does this film have? An appalling quartet of actors portraying even more appalling characters, nonsensical rules (or rather, no rules, like in almost every fantasy film, that’s why I hate the genre) and, well, that’s it. Even with that undoubtedly remarkable premise, I can’t consider Maléfique as an above-par film. ()
