Rob Schneider, David Spade and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) star as three older guys who know what it's like to be bullied. After catching some nasty neighborhood kids picking on a friend's son, they strike back by forming a three-man baseball team to challenge the state's best Little Leaguers. Now, cheered on by every nerd, geek and misfit in town, these underdogs are about to have a field day in this slapstick hit comedy from the director of Big Daddy and Happy Gilmore and producer Adam Sandler. English It's exactly the kind of wacky comedy that fits Schneider's career to date perfectly, and the kind I've been dreading. On the one hand, I can't deny its quite pleasant and relaxed atmosphere and a few moments where I laughed out loud. The character of Jon Lovitz and his portrayal of a die-hard Star Wars fan, in particular, is an excellent addition. But unfortunately, the flood of relatively effective and entertaining baseball sequences is marred by too many awkward and disgusting jokes, the kind that classically decorate most of Dugan's films. The potential was nought, the result was slightly below average. ()
