Life is sweet for 35-year-old video game tester Alex (Allen Covert), until he's forced to move in with his overbearing grandmother Lilly (Doris Roberts) and her two roommates: oversexed Grace (Shirley Jones) and overmedicated Bea (Shirley Knight). It's a subtle comedy that speaks more to someone who has ever played anything, whether on a computer or on a television. It's nice that the romance is more in the background and doesn't push to the forefront, because at that moment, it works quite well. There are funny scenes, quirky and mundane, a fairly American classic, but I lean more towards a positive assessment.
