Jack Black is at his comic best as Ignacio, a disrespected cook at a Mexican monastery that can barely afford to feed the orphans who live there. Inspired by a local wrestling hero, he decides to moonlight as the not-so-famous Luchador "Nacho Libre" to earn money for the monastery -- not to mention the admiration of beautiful nun Sister Encarnacion. English If Jack Black tried in the case of this film, then all other factors were against him. I read somewhere that "Nacho Libre" is a comedy. However, there must have been a mistake because the film is actually not funny at all. On the contrary, there are moments that are rather serious. Jack Black is a monk who "cooks" in a monastery, but his dream is to be a wrestler, which goes against the church's orders. But you can't command the heart, and so Nacho Libre is born, a wrestler who wants to give to the poor. Well, it's not original. Personally, I really like wrestling, but there's not much of it here either, because the only match that is even slightly worth something is the final match. Moreover, even in this aspect, the creators didn't try too hard and simply have nothing extra to offer. They stick to stereotypes, try to be absurd, but they're just embarrassing. Jared Hess tries a slightly different kind of comedy, he just forgot to make it funny and only does it a little differently.
