Jubilant at having invented a new computer language, Lucas's reverie is cut short when he is informed that he has a terminal illness which is gradually eroding his memory. Distraught at this news, Marcel's life is unexpectedly brightened by the appearance of Blanche (Sophie Marceau), with whom he enjoys a romantic liaison.
