Single and indecisive, Eddie (Ben Stiller) begins dating the incredibly sexy and seemingly fabulous Lila. Upon the urging of his father and best friend, Eddie proposes to her after only a week, fearing this may be his last chance at love, marriage, and happiness. However, while on their honeymoon in sunny Mexico, Lila reveals her true beyond-awful nature and Eddie meets Miranda, the woman he realizes to be his actual soul mate. English Thank you Malin Akerman for playing Stiller's wife perfectly. I cried with laughter!! Super relaxing with a good dose of humor... no punchline though. ()

English It's amazing how low someone with the comedic potential of Ben Stiller can fall at times. The Heartbreak Kid is really weak, trying to pass itself off as a cute romantic comedy with lots of intelligent humour. But the opposite is true, the film doesn't hesitate to use the most turbulent and, in the second half, the most embarrassing means to make the viewer laugh, hiding behind Ben Stiller's torn expression, which I felt very sorry for indeed. Mainly because by participating in such a blatant piece of trash he’s making clear his gradual retreat from the A-list. Really a class weaker than Sandler's Just Go With It, there the romantic and amorous atmosphere well combined with the humour was at least felt, whereas here... ()

English I realize that the Farrellys don't sit well with me. Their humor isn't bad, but I don't really understand what moral values they're trying to defend here. A dysfunctional family? Entertainment at the expense of other values - like drinking before driving? All with the inclusion of perverted jokes that are supposed to make you laugh. When they start moralizing, it's already a mess and doesn't even have that Sandler charm. ()
