English William Friedkin has Jade, Barbet Schroeder has Inju, an attempt at a mysterious, Cronenberg-like thriller with a bit of a noir atmosphere and a shocking point. If not for the professional technical aspect, it would be closer to another mediocre straight-to-DVD adaptation of a short story by Stephen King. The only reason I didn’t guess the point of the film was because I didn’t think that such amateurish storytelling could be so ambitious. At least there were those spicy S&M scenes. ()
