Citadel

Citadel is in between being a film and a home movie. Atom Egoyan’s wife Arsinée Khanjian is the star of a film that captures her reacquaint, after a 28-year absence, with her hometown of Beirut. While she revisits places of her childhood, Egoyan pursues her with his DV camera, toying constantly with the autofocus and pretending to capture the family trip for their son Arshile. But soon the ghosts of the Lebanese Civil War will appear through the images. (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival)
