Plots(1)

Inspired by true events, The Hunting Party stars Richard Gere and Terrence Howard as vacationing journalists who try to track down a missing war criminal in one of Eastern Europe's deadliest regions. What begins as an impulsive reporting adventure immediately turns dangerous, as hostile locals, shady underworld figures and a case of mistaken identity puts them squarely in their target's crosshairs. Amid the bullets and bombs, they discover that getting the scoop is one thing, getting out alive is something else entirely. (official distributor synopsis)

English This film (or the people behind it) doesn’t have a clue what it wants to be. It's not very comedic (a pregnant woman being shot), though some scenes are quite amusing. It's also not an action film, the war theme is described in a way that is most convenient for the creators. Diane Kruger as the leader of the rebel group is truly the highlight of the whole tragedy (I would say it's an intentional move). Richard Gere in an unusual role as a loser and internally scattered journalist wasn't completely the worst (though I don't believe his emotions) , but I can imagine him much better as a women's idol or an action hero. Overall, two or three scenes work, but ten or twenty simply don't and almost all of them bored me. ()

English Both gritty and chillingly funny, a well-written, well-acted and skillfully, briskly filmed story. I wasn’t bored for a second. And it has a great soundtrack. Comparable to Cage's Lord of War. ()

English Richard Gere got a quite interesting role to play, in which he tries to prove that the world is a disgusting place, because even great reporters can go down. The beginning is somewhat... I don't know, it's fast-paced and I almost liked it if only the beginning was developed into the movie and not just the foundation for the following events. Some scenes are unnecessary here, just to have some emotions. It doesn't fit. The ending is quite average, I don't even know what I was expecting. The revenge isn't that interesting, but did it actually make sense that it was all about reporters the whole time? ()
