Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) are ecstatic when their daughter Allison (guest star Laura Clery) decides to study in Europe for 6 months, thus leaving her tree hugging boyfriend Doug (guest star Tim Sharp) behind. But when Doug winds up in a serious accident, Allison ditches her trip and dashes home to Doug's side.
