1955, Moscow. The Hungarian water polo national team is defeated due to the biased referee and to the unfair play practized by the opponents. 1956. At the Technical University there is a demonstration, and in response to the words of the delegate from Szeged Univerity, the Budapest students, too, join the revolutionary league of the MEFESZ. Karcsi is driven into the armed events along with the beautiful and dauntless Viki. When the Russians leave, Karcsi goes back to training, since the Olympic Games are at hand. The lovers part, exchanging mascots. The bus of the water polo team goes vis-a-vis the returning Russian forces. Karcsi is knocked down by his fellow team mates, so he wouldn't return to his sweetheart. Viki and her companions fight to the last bullet, her friends die beside her. She, too, is arrested and questioned, and she is taken to be executed when the Hungarian team gains a great victory in Melbourne. (InterCom)

English Similar as if someone today came up with the idea to write a screenplay with the premise of the Velvet Revolution and then film it. Except that the Hungarians got that idea back in 2006 and produced a really great film. ()
