X, Y and Zee

Elizabeth Taylor is Zee Blakeley, the wife of eternally philandering Robert, in this story of swinging Londoners. When Robert's fancy for the beautiful young Stella threatens to break up her marriage, Zee takes matters into her own hands... Despite being trapped in an increasingly unpleasant marriage, Zee (Elizabeth Taylor) and her wealthy architect husband Robert Blakeley (Michael Caine) still share the same house, although not the same bedroom. So, when Gladys (Margaret Leighton), an eccentric society hostess, introduces them to Stella (Susannah York), a young, elegant dress designer and boutique owner, Robert takes her as a mistress. Determined not to lose her husband, in a fit of insane and ruthless jealousy, Zee confronts Stella and tries to convince her that the marriage is passionately happy. Failing to do so, she then attempts suicide. And as a last resort, the cunning Zee makes a final visit to Stella that successfully guarantees Robert will never try to leave her again. (Cinemax)
