With a heart that won't quit, a stomach that won't stop gurgling and a self-sworn oath to protect his turf, he's Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Mild-mannered Paul Blart (Kevin James, "The King of Queens") has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day. (Sony Pictures)

English This supermarket cop was as dumb as a bag of rocks. And the worst thing is that in his stupidity, he was sometimes funny. All in all, however, I’m trying to think about how it is possible that Adam Sandler keeps selling these comedies because there’s almost nothing about them other than that some private TV channels can use them to fill up several hours of uninteresting time. Do not be mistaken, I do like Sandler. What I don’t get, however, is his idea of producing good, average and bad films. And what I find shocking is that these average comedies manage to make some money for him… ()

English Kevin James is entertaining and thankfully doesn't play the main character as an annoying jerk, but as a nice sensitive underdog and good guy with a sense of principle. Plus, he's lucky to have the endearingly cute Jayma Mays, with whom he gets along very well as an actor. Good so far. Actually, the idea of making the second half of the film a variation on Die Hard isn't bad at all. Unfortunately, the humor in this part of the film becomes somehow more awkward and uninteresting, thanks to the extremely unfunny and stupid band of robbers. It’s too bad, as this could have been a really relaxing affair. Three and a half stars. ()
