Byrdie, fast approaching 50 years old, is considered an over-the-hill has been script writer, along with her old studio friends and agent who have all been replaced by younger models. So Byrdie concocts a plan of revenge - get her young charming nephew, Jason, to pretend to be a script writer. With his gift of the gab it is not long before Jason's sold Byrdie's script. Trouble is he's sold it to Andrea, Byrdie's friend, and as the two fall for each other Byrdie's conscience gets the better of her. Finally the truth trickles out and Byrdie has to fight for her script and Jason has to fight for Andrea. (official distributor synopsis)
