An ailing ex-lawman undertakes an arduous mission to catch a killer. Based on Michael Connelly's bestseller, the film stars the cagey actor as Terry McCaleb, a retired FBI detective who is recovering from a heart transplant when he meets the beautiful Graciella Rivers, a young woman who believes McCaleb can find her sister's killer. Popping medication like candy, McCaleb takes the case, but as he slowly draws closer to uncovering the criminal's identity, he realizes there is a shocking connection to his former career.
