English Clint Eastwood demonstrates how close the western genre was to him, and how much he tuned into it. He managed to create a character that mostly aligns with the classic spaghetti western archetype but also overall shifts elsewhere, becoming something different, something new. The finale isn't in line with the classic tone of a western, and it's as if the genre itself is changing along with the character of Wales. ()
