California-based sisters Jayne (Parker Posey) and Laura (Demi Moore) have traveled down very different paths in their adult lives. Jayne, a ditsy, self-centered shopaholic, married the wealthy son of a famous artist. Laura, a pragmatic environmental research biologist, ended up with a handful of children. When their father`s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Jayne and Laura head back home to deal with the situation, leading to a chaotic family reunion brimming with laughter and tears.
