FILMS – SUCCESS – CAREER – DISAPPOINTMENT – FRIENDS – FAMILY – CRUELTY – CHILDHOOD – THE VIRTUE OF POWER – REBELLION – FREEDOM… These are the basic pillars of this visually spectacular documentary by director Miloslav Šmídmajer, which seeks the answers to a few key questions: Why did Milos Forman have to shoot some films the way he did? Where does his internal strength spring from? What is his life story? Are you expecting a portrait recalling the milestones of Forman’s career and his famous films? Don’t. Because we’re going to tell you a story about cruelty, losing parents and losing sons, about the power of overcoming demons. About the desire to succeed and to be free… Milos Forman lost his parents during childhood. Twenty-seven years later, his first sons lost their father, who was forced to emigrate and remain abroad. Only now are they making up for what others experience as youth… Multiple trying experiences compelled him to make certain movies (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The People vs. Larry Flint, Goya’s Ghosts). You will spend 100 minutes in Milos Forman’s company and learn more about his life and thinking than ever before. You’ll peer into his private life, his sorrows… You’ll enjoy snippets of his famous films, meet famous personalities from the film world, experience the night he won the Oscar for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, see a number of rare scenes… The documentary took roughly five years to make and was shot in New York, Connecticut, Paris, Valencia, Madrid, Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic. English Milos, through and through. Father, filmmaker, and globetrotter. Told by Milos about Milos and accompanied by his loved ones. On DVD with a nice portion of bonus features. My only criticism pertains once again to the PR because promoting this human documentary with a poser smoking moment is strongly OFF-TOPIC. ()

English Not only is Miloš Forman's work interesting, but his life is also intriguing. In this case, it is presented in his own words, fascinatingly. Miloš Forman is a great storyteller, not only in film. Moreover, the information presented here is truly interesting, not so well-known, and ultimately emotional. Information, an intriguing person, great films, films that were not even created, this is something that must inspire a film fan. ()
