Barbie tells the story of Thumbelina, an itsy bitsy girl who lives amongst the Twillerbees (tiny, magical creatures) in a field of wildflowers. When a spoiled city dweller picks Thumbelina's flower and takes it back to her apartment, the little heroine learns that plans are underway to uproot the entire field. Now she must conjure a way to protect the Twillerbees and their natural habitat before it's too late! (official distributor synopsis)

English In this unusual Hans Christian Andersen adaptation, the title includes the phrase "Barbie Presents," which suggests that she will not play a major role in the story. She plays only herself and is the narrator of Thumbelina’s great adventure. There is also an ecological subtext (which is supported by the fact that the dolls in the series for this film are sold in recyclable paper boxes). It’s a very good idea. ()
