Jeff (Joel McHale) organizes a lovely holiday gathering at his apartment but Annie (Alison Brie) secretly invites Professor Cornwallis (recurring guest star Malcolm McDowell), to get in his good graces. When it becomes apparent that Professor Cornwallis intends to give them a bad grade on their joint history paper, the atmosphere quickly deteriorates and the group takes decisive action. (iTunes)

Well, go figure. One episode sucks, and the one that immediately follows makes up for it, earning my top rating for the fourth season. The group gathering with Malcolm McDowell was surprisingly entertaining. It did the job, but the tenth episode didn't quite hit the same level of jokes for me to give it a higher rating. And, predictably, the ending had to dive back into melodrama.. / Lesson learned: Kidnapping might be the secret to better grades.
