Six friends. One city. Six reasons to leave that city behind. One common dream that might just let them do it. Can they make it a working reality? Do they really want to? They know what they don’t want, yet they don’t know what they want. (official distributor synopsis)

English A more civil and less secretive Loners, but that in no way means that it pisses me off any less. On the contrary. Although the filming and acting are above local standards, I can't seem to identify with this analysis of antisocial lesbians and unpromising females off the main path. I don't know what's interesting enough about these people to watch their incompetence and ridiculousness without any catharsis for 102 minutes. But I repeat: decent for a contemporary Czech film. ()

English Some of the characters may seem like unnecessary caricatures (Dagmar's husband and the more effeminate gay one in particular), but otherwise Dreamers feels remarkably authentic. At times you really feel that you are watching an unflattering documentary about people who always want something, but don't really know what it is, so they run (to Prague, to their cottage...) and run... It's surely as much a credit to the script, which the director has pieced together from real stories of her acquaintances, as it is to the clever direction, neatly blending several time levels, and the likeable team of unheralded actors, who are quite believable. There are not many jokes, but when there are, they are really funny, which is also appreciated. ()
