Paris, the textile workshop district. Christmas is drawing near, and Vahé Krikorian's life is falling apart. He works in a shop that belongs to his father, but it is soon to close down- too many debts and unpaid bills. Lu Ann, the woman he loves, has walked out on him. And he knows that the three-card trick con that he does with Sahak and Sahak's brother, Toros, will not get him very far. Yuen, Lu Ann's brother, comes to France as an illegal immigrant but refuses to work for the network that got him into the country without realising how dangerous this might be.
