"Area 51" is a classic found footage film that occasionally has some clever tricks, but overall it's just a classic mess where there's simply nothing to be scared of. It's a boring spectacle with unlikable and awkward characters, basically lacking a storyline, at least not the one that would come to mind when seeing the title, and the overall horror is really limited to a minimum number of scenes and the classic shaky camera. One of the most unnecessary movies I've seen recently.
