Christopher Lee is an excellent Sherlock Holmes, but Thorley Walters is very, very, very bad as Watson, and if it weren't for the fact that he was dubbed by Lubomir Lipsky, he'd probably be a bit worse. Still, the film is one of the better Holmesian averages, although even at a (seemingly likeable) 86 minutes it can sometimes feel drawn out. ()
