If it was just about a series of music scenes, I feel like it would have essentially the same effect. The best part of the movie is the musical numbers, which may not be choreographed thoughtfully, but as songs, they are simply good. The actual, simple story is just a bonus that doesn't offend, but also doesn't captivate.
