Casanegra

A stylish widescreen flick about two unemployed youngsters (who would like more from life) hanging around Casablanca, which looks different than how we know it from the movies. Fans of American gangster movies won’t be too impressed, as this film is a little naive and presented without much excitement. The central pair is likable; they know the meaning of family and friendship and you will root for them. Those two hours will pass without you being bored or finding any faults with the film, but also without having much fun. In the world of Moroccan cinema, it might be a potential blockbuster due to its nice formal aspect and the likeable faces of the protagonists, but it’s not very interesting for foreigners.
